This Little Red Riding Hood board game turns a story most children already know into their first experience of taking turns. Players build the four-piece puzzle board first, then roll the wooden die to move Red Riding Hood along the path to Grandma's house before the wolf gets there. A game runs about fifteen to twenty minutes.
In cooperative mode everyone plays on the same side: the group moves Red Riding Hood together and wins or loses together. There is no losing player, which matters when children this age are still learning to lose gracefully. In competitive mode two players take a side each one is the wolf, one is Red Riding Hood and whoever reaches Grandma's house first wins.
The board arrives as a four-piece jigsaw rather than a fixed sheet, so the first minute of every session is a puzzle. It is a small thing, but it gives younger players something to do before the rules start and makes the box feel like two activities rather than one.
