Bath time chaos, straight from the Heeler house

The Bluey Splash Time board game turns a simple race around the board into a wet, laugh-out-loud gamble. Two to four players take turns washing Bluey in her bathtub, but every press of the shower knob risks setting her off. When Bluey shakes herself dry she flings real water at whoever is closest, and that player heads straight back to the start line.

This one comes from the team behind Soggy Doggy, so it is a genuine action game rather than a licensed re-skin. The tension builds with every turn, and because the shake is unpredictable, no two rounds ever play out the same way. Younger players stay in the game just as easily as older siblings, which makes it a rare board game the whole table can play on equal footing.

How it plays

• Fill the bathtub with water and set the board up on a hard floor or a towel.
• Roll the die and move your token around the track.
• Land on a water drop space and press the knob the number of times shown.
• Land on a star space and turn the star knob clockwise instead.
• Any action can trigger the shake, and getting splashed sends you back to the start.
• First player to complete the lap without a soaking wins.
